PathWays Together

...is an unfolding vision-into-reality shared by passionate African Refugees and Immigrants across Indianapolis. It is a story of very humble beginnings. Born out of real time needs and incredible dreams for the possible, PathWays Together is the plan of action, the organizing, creating, developing and actualizing of a dynamic Not-for-Profit Agency that will serve, support and create opportunities for individuals and families from across the African Diaspora of Indianapolis, Indiana.

For some of us, the journey began years ago with wars and conflicts (even genocide) that forced so many into fleeing their home communities, losing everything they owned (including the lives of family members and friends), traveling hundreds of miles on foot, crossing international borders and becoming refugees in camps in foreign countries... Some of us have lived and suffered in refugee camps for decades. Some of us were born and grew up our entire lives in refugee camps. For others of us, we came as immigrants pursuing our American Dream.

We came to the United States under "Refugee Resettlement" programs; some of us came as individuals seeking asylum; others of us submitted formal immigration applications and waited in line for many years until, in proper order our names were called... (for a few, even US military service became part of our journey for citizenship).

Upon arrival, many of us landed in different cities across America. Indianapolis, because of its warehouse job opportunities became the magnet that drew many of us to move here. Because of a growing African community in Indianapolis - more and more of us came.

For so many of us, Indianapolis is our city of great hope and a new life; our city in which dreams will become reality; the diverse and wonderful city where our families will become engaged citizens, the hard working and contributing community builders of its future.

He believes all journeys have a purpose and influence, ranging from nomadic existence, immigration, exploration, trade, to even the most horrific of all journeys - wars and slave trade. Together, they make up the most profound of all human stories - The Great Continent's Great Story.
